Mile High The unputdownable first book in TikTok sensation, the Windy City series, featuring an ice hockey enemies-to-lovers sports romance

Between Stevie being the perfect MFC and Evan Zanders being the most protective (and hot) MMC I found myself giggling and kicking my feet in the middle of the night. This book went high and beyond my expectations with the perfect amount of Forbidden-Love and Enemies-to-Lovers. What made me feel connected to Stevie was her struggle with her body-image and to Zanders was his daddy-issues. The book felt a little long at times but I definetely will be reading the sequels and you should too!

English version below Mir hat das Buch sehr gut gefallen. Für alle Personen die einmal eine curvy Protagonistin sehen wollen, ist dieses Buch genau das richtige. Man taucht richtig gut in Stevies Welt und ihre Unsicherheiten ein. Man kann sehr gut mitfühlen und ist als Leser:in umso glücklicher als Zanders ins Bild tritt. Wie er sie behandelt ist absolut süß und herzerwärmend - heilsam. May we all find our Zanders. Zitat aus dem Buch „.. I am not going to let you talk shit about about what´s mine…“ Mir hat auch gut gefallen wie das Thema Therapie und mentale Gesundheit repräsentiert wird, vor allem aus einer männlichen Perspektive. We need more of that! Mir haben die frechen Sprüche von Stevie und die Obsession (zu seiner Flugbegleiterin) von Zanders sehr gefallen. Es ist so schön zu sehen wie sich die beiden entwickeln und wie sich das auf ihre Bindung auswirkt. Das Setting im Flugzeug und die Abwechslung der Orte und Szenen ist sehr erfrischend und macht unglaublichen Spaß während des Lesens. Auch Stevies Liebe zu den Hunden im Shelter finde ich herzig und macht sie als Charakter noch sympathischer als sie eh schon ist. I really enjoyed this book. For anyone who wants to read about a curvy protagonist, this book is perfect. You really get immersed in Stevie's world and her insecurities. You can easily empathize with her, and as a reader, you're all the happier when Zanders enters the picture. The way he treats her is absolutely sweet and heartwarming—so healing. May we all find our Zanders. Quote from the book: "...I am not going to let you talk shit about what's mine..." I also really liked how the topics of therapy and mental health are represented, especially from a male perspective. We need more of that! I loved Stevie's sassy remarks and Zanders' obsession (with his flight attendant). It's so lovely to see how the two of them develop and how that affects their relationship. The airplane setting and the variety of locations and scenes are very refreshing and incredibly enjoyable to read. I also find Stevie's love for the dogs in the shelter adorable, and it makes her character even more likeable than she already is.

Stevie is a plus-size flight attendant. She resently moved to Chicago to be near her Twin Brother. Stevie only wears thrifted clothes and is obsessed with animals, dogs in particular. Zanders is the Chicago Hockey bad-boy. He is a player that you love when he is on your Team and a player that you hate when he is not. But underneath the bad-boy facade you will find the sweetest guy ever. A beautiful love story I can not stop recommending.
