Meine letzte Rezension Broken Dove von Dani Francis

Nachdem das erste Buch mit einem so extremen Cliffhanger geendet hatte, habe ich die Tage bis zum Release der Fortsetzung gezählt. Ich kann ehrlich sagen, dass mir das zweite Buch sogar noch besser gefallen hat als das erste! Es war großartig. Besonders gut gefiel mir das Love Triangle, und ich war sehr glücklich darüber, für wen sie sich am Ende entschieden hat :) Ich konnte das Buch einfach nicht aus der Hand legen; es hatte einen enormen Suchtfaktor und hat mich von Anfang bis Ende gefesselt. Außerdem fand ich es toll, dass der Fokus stärker auf der Politik, den Auswirkungen des Krieges und der schwierigen Realität lag, sich für das kleinere von zwei Übeln entscheiden zu müssen. Insgesamt hatte ich beim Lesen eine fantastische Zeit und habe jede Minute genossen.

I literally have chills after finishing this book. It was absolutely amazing. I found a book that I could proudly recommend to everyone if they asked me for a book recommendation. The storyline was perfectly executed. And the writing was on top! As long as the Lemon Trees Grow is a heartbreaking novel following 18 year old Salama who is a pharmacy student, but after losing her parents and brother when the Syrian Revolution breaks out, she is forced to volunteer at her local hospital and perform as a doctor undertaking surgeries and trying to keep the wounded alive. Salama is torn from wanting to leave her country to provide a better life for her pregnant Sister in Law Layla and wanting to stay in Syria and be loyal to her country. Hijabi girls, halal romance, they pray, they read Quran, literal perfect depiction of Islam.

»Mama, bitte lern Deutsch«

Ich finde keine Worte für dieses Buch. Es ist persönlich, ehrlich und auch irgendwie brutal. Tashim erzählt seine Geschichte, in der sich sicherlich viele Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund wiederfinden werden.

Nightshade

I loved it, here wasn't a single chapter where I felt bored. Each chapter had its own plot and it kept building up. The vibes were immaculate and the setting gave me the autumn vibes I was craving!! If you’re looking for a dark academia romance for the fall, this one is literally perfect!

Stars and Smoke

Winter and Sydney are two teenagers that could not be more different. They went from hating each other to saveing each others life, but they both know they do not have a future together. I really enjoyd the authors style in writing and she gave them the perfect chemistry. I could not put this book down and it is honestly one of my reading highlights.

Even if you are not a Greek Mythology Fan like me, the chances are high that you will atleast have heard of the famous Medusa. In this Novel Burton tells the story of Medusa and Perseus from Medusas perspective. Giving her a very human side. Medusa is a young woman trapped in her body and isolated from the whole world. Her body was transformed into a monster by Athena. Her body feels like her own prison. She is extremely lonely and horrified by what she has become. Inedebly she is slowly losing herself.

Four Eids and a Funeral

Said and Tiwa haven't spoken in years, but after their favourite librarian died Said and Tiwa are forced to share custody of the cat they both inherited. They absolutely hate each other and they would rather ripp their heads of than talk it all out. The fourth Eid forces them to work together and maybe they don't hate each other afterall. A cute love story with absolutely great character developments and great humour.
