Der beste Pscho-Thriller den ich je gelesen habe! Sehr gut geschrieben, man fühlt direkt mit und es ist so verfasst, dass man den plot twist gar nicht kommen sieht! Die Wendung am ende, bzw. die letzten kapitel haben mich mit offenem mund sitzen lassen, geschockt, aber froh weil dieses buch so unglaublich toll war!

Just as the FMC I have also been left speechless. The story has took turns where I didn’t even know it would be possible to turn. The aspects of going back and forth between present and the diary entries kept me on pins and needles and I couldn’t stop reading. Although it was rather slow paced, the chapters were short which I always appreciate. I must admit towards the middle of the book it became more and more obvious who did what but the most surprising part was the “Why’s” of each person. Coming to get to know each and every single character in the book, you start to understand the FMC better, too. AHH the ending killed me tho. The plot twist was amazingly delivered.

Michaelides tells the story of Theo Faber, a forensic psychotherapist. And Alicia Berenson, who loved her husband deeply and seemed to have the perfect marriage until one day she shot him in the head five times. Six years have passed since then and she still hasn’t said a single word. The question remains why did she kill him and why won’t she talk about it? This question also raises interest in the psychotherapist. Will he finally get her to talk? This book was an absolute page turner for me. Alicias diary gives an interesting insight into her thoughts from the past. Which made me wonder even more why and even if she killed her husband. From Theos point of view the reader also gets to know his life outside of his job. That really adds to the story. I recommend this book if you’re looking for suspense and some unexpected turns.
