Meine letzte Rezension The Strawberry Patch Pancake House von Laurie Gilmore
If you're looking for a book to sweeten and spice up your spring - you just found it. This was my first read from the Dream Harbor series. In my opinion reading them in order isn't a must but could be helpful. The book was easy to read, perfect for getting out of a reading slump or after a long day if you just want to relax. The tension between the protagonists was very clear from the start... to the reader at least ;) At times I felt it pushed a bit too hard on the Gilmore Girls narrative but I still enjoyed it. I absolutely love the tv series but it was difficult sometimes to really get a picture of Dream Harbor instead of Stars Hollow. But still this was definitely the light and cozy spring read I expected it to be! I see myself reading the rest of the series as well.

If you're looking for a book to sweeten and spice up your spring - you just found it. This was my first read from the Dream Harbor series.     Blaues Wunder

    Zwischen Luxusleben, falschen Fassaden und Psycho-Machtspielchen verbringen Eheleute einen "Urlaub" auf hoher See. An Bord: zwei Konkurrenten, ihr Chef, sein Sohn plus Ehefrauen. Bildhaft und sehr unterhaltsam geschrieben deckt Freytag die dunklen Geheimnisse aller auf. Jeder spielt eine Rolle, einige besser als andere, doch auch diese Fassaden beginnen zu bröckeln. Anne Freytag thematisiert Rollenbilder in der Gesellschaft, vor allem Männer in Machtpositionen und die Beziehungen zu ihren Frauen. Hierbei geht sie auf das problematische und völlig absurde Bild der "perfekten Ehefrau" ein: untergeordnet, fällt nicht auf, still aber stimmt je zu und wehrt sich nicht. Sie bedient sich vieler Klischees, die sie humorvoll ins Lächerliche zieht. Durch die verschiedenen Perspektiven erhält man Einblicke in die Köpfe der Frauen und diese sollte man keinesfalls unterschätzen. Das Buch ist für mich eine absolute Empfehlung!

    The Silent Patient

    Michaelides tells the story of Theo Faber, a forensic psychotherapist. And Alicia Berenson, who loved her husband deeply and seemed to have the perfect marriage until one day she shot him in the head five times. Six years have passed since then and she still hasn’t said a single word. The question remains why did she kill him and why won’t she talk about it? This question also raises interest in the psychotherapist. Will he finally get her to talk? This book was an absolute page turner for me. Alicias diary gives an interesting insight into her thoughts from the past. Which made me wonder even more why and even if she killed her husband. From Theos point of view the reader also gets to know his life outside of his job. That really adds to the story. I recommend this book if you’re looking for suspense and some unexpected turns.
