Dungeons& Drama - Um romance geek para fãs de RPGe fake dating

I barely read YA anymore because I usually can’t relate to the characters. They’re often just too young for me, and a lot of YA books end up feeling kind of cringey. So Dungeons and Drama was actually my first YA book after a long time. And what can I say? I was completely giggly and i loved it. This book is just so cozy. I had the biggest smile on my face the entire time and barely wanted to put it down. The writing flows so effortlessly that I just kept reading AND it contains dnd and thats definitely different to other books. I absolutely loved Riley. You can feel her passion for musicals on every single page, and I love characters who are genuinely passionate about something. And Nathan… Oh my god, he’s such a cutiepie. He completely stole my heart. I also loved Riley’s friendship with her best friend. It was just so nice to read about a healthy, supportive friendship for once. Of course there’s plenty of teenage drama, but honestly, I didn’t mind it at all. I think that’s because it never felt over the top. It was just… cute. I also really liked the family dynamics. It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. There were conflicts, misunderstandings, and consequences. Riley definitely drags out her punishment, but I liked that her mom still recognized that she had understood the point and started to rethink her priorities. Even when things weren’t perfect, you could tell how much her parents genuinely supported her. Sure, the storyline with her dad was pretty predictable. It was foreshadowed quite early on. And yes, everyone coming together and helping to finish the musical at the end is definitely a cliché. But honestly? It was written in such a sweet way that I didn’t even care. I just had so much fun reading this. Cozy, cute, romantic, with Dungeons & Dragons, musicals, and characters you can’t help but love. I genuinely didn’t expect a YA book to pull me in like this again, but this one absolutely did.

In a crowd full of - for whatever reason authors think they have to be - spice romcoms, Dungeons and Drama is a true gem. Not only is it perfect for young readers, hence the protagonists are high schoolers themselves, but this book is a closed door romcom with a beautifully written, nerdy component. The readers follow our female lead, a theatre girl who, as a punishment, has to work at her fathers board game store. To her it seems to be the 'worst thing ever' hence she shows no interest in board games whatsoever, thinking they are boring and 'nerd stuff' but when her ex boyfriend, who only recently dumped her, suddenly shows up at her newfound job, she panics and spontaneously makes up a story involving none other than her nerdy coworker / schoolmate who quickly drags her into his world. Romcom meets DND - the perfect fast paced book to get out of a reading slump, with the nerdy twist that makes you giggle while reading.

This story is as cute as the cover suggests. It's about fake dating and the collision of two different worlds: Riley is invested in her high school's musical productions, while Nathan is a total Dungeons and Dragons nerd. As they both pretend to be a couple to achieve their own goals, events unfold into a witty, endearing story that everyone interested in gaming and/or theatre will love.

A cute , short YA Romance with D&D Elements. Anyone who loves D&D or Roleplaying and whishes for just a little bit more cuteness and romance will love this book. Mixing theater and TTRPG (Tabletop Roleplay Games) this book will leave you with a warm cuddly feeling in your heart and a desire for another round of Dungeons & Dragons.

Dungeons and Drama is one of my favourite romance novels I've ever read. I love with the characters, the writing style, the overall plot, the banter, it's perfect. I was already so excited when I first saw this book solely because of the cover (it's so cute) but once I read the blurb I was hooked. I love musicals and everything around that topic but I don't think I've ever read a book with a main character that is also obsessed with musicals. I knew I would love this book before I even read it and I was not disappointed at all. Fake dating tropes need to be well written for me to enjoy them, I normally don't gravitate toward that kind of trope but holy cow, Kristy Boyce but something so special in there! The book is so well written, the characters are amazing and so fun. I honestly cannot stop talking about it, I recommend it as much as I can. If I could give it 6 stars, trust me, I would! If you like musicals/games and want to read a cute, funny, heartwarming romance novel then this is the one for you! ♡
