Meine letzte Rezension Lights Out von Navessa Allen
My first dark romance book. A friend recommended it to me and I thought, okay… let’s give the genre a fair chance. I also wanted to read something from a different genre. It was actually really easy to follow. If English isn’t your first language and you want to try an English book, go for it. I don’t know if it’s just the genre, but to me this was basically just Pretty Privilege. The guy is hot, muscular, and attractive. If he wasn’t, this story would’ve been sitting in the thriller section instead. Or maybe not it wasn‘t that good. There actually were moments where I thought it was getting interesting. Suddenly there was a murder, then they had to cover it up, then mafia. For a second I thought, okay… now we’re getting somewhere. But in the end it felt like the book wanted to have a huge plot but never really developed any of it. I’ve also been told there are much better dark romance books out there. So maybe it’s not the genre—maybe it was just this book. Three stars in the end, but honestly the cat carried the book for me. Cats always win me over.
