CRAZY good

Bewertung am 24.04.2025

Bewertungsnummer: 2474677

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

I absolutely loved the writing style of Mona Awad, there are many (actually good) metaphors, rhetoricals and other stylistics, without feeling forced or exaggerated. I also loved the part that Smackie was a writer herself, all her struggles felt authentic, she as a character felt authentic. I understood (almost) every of her decisions and thoughts. She was kind of an unreliable narrator without knowing it the whole time, I loved that too. The bunnies were surprisingly individual too. Before I read it, I thought they’d be all the same, wearing pink ballet dresses and eating sweeties and gossiping but no, they all have independent personalities. And those personalities are pretty great written too, (I especially loved cupcake) the bunnies were so much more than just a sect. But the best character without question was Ava. Omfggg I AM IN LOVE there is literally no better character in the whole world, she is genius! At first I thought she was kinda mean and using Smackie, but as their relationship was explained, I understood her motives. I know how it sounds, but she literally knew better than Smackie what’s best for her. And SERIOUSLY, Ava is a goddamn icon. She is sooooooo cool and great and hot and everything. Also I never thought smoking or tango could be that hot. My only complaint are those 50 pages somewhere in the middle, when she was all alone. That was a bit dragging and hard to get through. And also you always kinda have the feeling as if this whole book and every page has a deeper meaning ur just to dumb to really get…

What a Feverdream

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

As Christina Bunny already mentioned, this book was a wild ride – a fantastic and fanatic one! The writing will suck you in and won’t ever let you go – never, bunny – because it was so utterly biguiling. We follow some unreliable narrators who will – of course – never lie, what makes the story even more interesting. I highly recommend this feministic satire!

Welcome to Smut Salon

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

A feverdream of a book, a literary horror novel that will creep under your skin and haunt you, while consuming you completely. The writing is captivating, the narration style a statement – this book will stay on your mind for a long time! And as Stella Bunny mentioned, we cannot trust anyone – how fun! You should definitely give this one a try.
