Onyx Storm (Standard Edition)

The third book of the Empyrean series is yet another masterpiece. Rebecca Yarros is a genius, an evil one but still a genius. She adds more and more tension to the book, and makes it appear even greater than it already is. The Dragons? Absolutely mesmerizing! And the Cliffhanger at the end of the book? It makes you want more! Ugh the worldbuilding is soo great.

I have to say this is my least favorite part of the series so far. I found a lot of it very confusing, and some chapters were even unnecessary for me. Because of the confusing chapters, I sometimes had to google it or ask people who had already read that part. Of course, there were also sweet moments with Xaden or funny conversations between Tairn and Violet, which I always enjoy. I was also very touched by the selflessness of some characters or the love between dragon and rider. As with the previous book, there are some unpleasant surprises, so buckle up if you haven't read it yet. While reading, I was prepared for the worst regarding all the characters and whether they might be working for the enemy. You're a bit like an investigator, trying to pick out clues. Despite everything, I'll be interested to know what happens next and I'm looking forward to the next book.
