    Wunderschöne, erleichternde Neuerzählung

    Die Wiedererzählung ist einfach erfrischend und erleichternd. Die ganze Zeit, seit Perseus im Buch auftritt, war ich angespannt und wollte nicht, dass das ‘unausweichliche Schicksal’ den Charakter trifft, für den ich durch diese grandios gewählte Erzähl Perspektive auf einmal Empathie empfinde. Das Ende war überraschend und eine riesige Erleichterung. Es macht einfach Hoffnung. Es liest sich auch wunderbar. Riesige Empfehlung.

    pure poetry

    This was one of the first retellings I ever got to read and I am so glad that I did. Medusa ist written very poetical and from a modern, feminist viewpoint. Although it can Seen like it's a bit too modern towards the end, since Medusa seems VERY reflected this doesn't really vorher me personally. Amazing writing!

    Absolutely stunning

    This book was one of the most beautiful I've ever read. Wonderful retelling, powerful words twisted with pain and passion. I enjoyed every bit of it and cried my eyes out at the last page. I really, really recommend this book!!

    Stunning, intimate writing and marvellous illustrations

    Probably the first protagonist which, at a certain point in the book I did NOT want to slap in the face because they‘re making me furious with their behaviour. Every moment I was on her side, feeling the pain she must have felt, supporting her decisions, watching her grow. It was like Medusa telling me her deepest secrets and I was the only one to ever hear it. This is the only version of the Medusa story I ever want to read. I fell in love.

In this Novel Burton tells the story of Medusa and Perseus from Medusas perspective. Giving her a very human side. Medusa is a young woman trapped in her body and isolated from the whole world. Her body was transformed into a monster by Athena. Her body feels like her own prison. She is extremely lonely and horrified by what she has become. Inedebly she is slowly losing herself.
