Beatifully narrated story

Lene am 08.08.2022

Bewertungsnummer: 1763546

Bewertet: Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

I always have been interested in greek mythology, but it was the beautiful cover that caught my interest at First. The book ”re-tells“ the myth of Medusa, but from her POV. I found it to be very poetic and the illustrations fit perfectly. I really enjoyed the writing style that stands out by it‘s simple and yet detailed narration. I would recommend this to everyone, although I think women will be able to connect with it better.

This book was one of the most beautiful I've ever read. Wonderful retelling, powerful words twisted with pain and passion. I enjoyed every bit of it and cried my eyes out at the last page. I really, really recommend this book!!

5/5

“She was a woman who’d done nothing wrong except exist.”

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

Even if you are not a Greek Mythology Fan like me, the chances are high that you will atleast have heard of the famous Medusa. In this Novel Burton tells the story of Medusa and Perseus from Medusas perspective. Giving her a very human side. Medusa is a young woman trapped in her body and isolated from the whole world. Her body was transformed into a monster by Athena. Her body feels like her own prison. She is extremely lonely and horrified by what she has become. Inedebly she is slowly losing herself.
