Hear me out, I know this book is controversial. I know many people didn't like it. But I also believe that - if you read this while keeping in mind it is intended to be smut and not a literary masterpiece - you can enjoy it for what it is: A spicy lovestory. Icebreaker is a book that surprised me in the best way possible. I anticipated lots of spicy scenes, confusing sport references and surface-level conversations, but what actually stood out was the dynamic between the two main characters. I was rooting for their journey from enemies (although shortlived) to friends and eventually to each other’s biggest supporters. Their banter was one of my favorite parts and I had to laugh out loud more than once. While Icebreaker is often labeled as a rather superficial “smut” book, I appreciated that it offered more than just spice (Although the spice was actually really well written ;)) Their character development (therapy, communication, sport practice...) gave the story depth, making it feel real rather than superficial. They are college students so of curse they are somewhat reckless, like partying a lot and have no "real life struggles" but that's what college is for, right? I personally don’t understand the hate this book receives. But I also know people are mad about the topic of (spoiler alert) eating disorders mentioned in the book. I actually felt that this obviously sensitive topic was handled with caution. I am glad I gave this book from my tbr a chance! Overall, Icebreaker was an enjoyable and engaging read, and it definitely left me excited to continue with the rest of the series.

Ich liebe dieses Buch, es ist so eine tolle Geschichte, nicht so Cliché mäßig. Tolle Charaktere, safespace vibes und gute Geschwindigkeit War mein erstes Buch auf Englisch und auch super einfach zu lesen. Auch gut für die Winterzeit
