  Loki − Her Twisted Heart

  Loki ist ein fesselnder Jugendfantasy-Roman, der mit einer spannenden Mischung aus nordischer Mythologie und düsterer Magie überzeugt. Die Geschichte spielt in zwei Welten, die der Menschen und der Götter. Langsam breitet sich eine geheimnisvolle, tödliche Krankheit in beiden Welten aus. Was mich besonders begeistert hat, ist die Hauptfigur, die junge Kriegerin Harlow, die sich trotz aller Widrigkeiten nicht unterkriegen lässt. Ihr Mut, ihre Stärke und ihre Entschlossenheit machen sie zu einer unglaublich sympathischen und inspirierenden Protagonistin. Sie kämpft nicht nur gegen die Bedrohung durch die Krankheit, sondern auch gegen die Herausforderungen, die ihr die Götter und das Schicksal in den Weg stellen. Ihre Entwicklung im Laufe der Geschichte ist packend und zeigt, wie sie sich von einer wütenden Außenseiterin zu einer Kriegerin mit Wünschen & Hoffnungen entwicelt. Vor allem die magischen Wesen in Abyssos finde ich ganz toll. Diese geheimnisvolle Welt ist faszinierend und gefährlich zugleich und die verschiedenen Wesen sorgen für eine einzigartige Atmosphäre. Obwohl ich eigentlich keine Fantasy Leserin bin, hat mich dieses Buch wirklich überzeugt. Aber achtung, besonders dramatisch ist das Ende, das mit einem Cliffhanger aufhört und meine Neugier auf die Fortsetzung definitiv geweckt hat. Ich bin jetzt schon sehr gespannt darauf, wie es mit den Charakteren und der Geschichte weitergeht.

  Pure Grace Academy (Band 1) - The Final Bow

  Schon lange hat mich kein Buch mehr so gefesselt wie dieses hier. Da es sich nicht nur um eine Second-Chance Romance handelt, sondern auch nebenbei als Hoppydetektiv eine Murder Mystery aufgeklärt wird, war das Buch von der ersten bis zur letzten Seite total spannend. Generell hat mir das Setting an der Pure Grace Academy in Paris schon sehr gut gefallen und die verschiedenen Charaktere haben mich dann ganz in die Story hinein gezogen. Es ist aber sicherlich auch eine etwas düstere Geschichte, da die Realität in der Welt des Balletts ja auch nicht immer so schön ist, wie sie zu sein scheint. Alles in allem eine wirklich toll geschriebene Geschichte rund um das Ballett, Familiengeheimnisse, den Leistungsdruck in der Sportwelt und das Erwachsenwerden. Das war mein erstes Buch von Jennifer Bright und ich muss sagen, ich bin wirklich begeistert von ihrem Schreibstil. Ich mag die Dialoge sehr und auch der Spice ist hier - obwohl ich sonst Spice ungern auf deutsch lese - sehr passend und nicht unangenehm formuliert. Auch Tage nach Beenden des Buches schwirren mir die Plottwists und manche Szenen noch im Kopf umher - ein Beweis, dass dieses Buch eine echte Leseempfehlung ist. Ich bin schon ganz gespannt auf Band 2..

  If you are an autumn enthusiast like me you will absolutely love this book. It gives off “Gilmore Girls” vibes and is a heartfelt cozy comfort book. I do like my grumpy x sunshine tropes in books and this one was no exception. After Jeannie inherits her aunt's beloved Pumpkin Spice Café in the small town Dream Harbor, she doesn’t hesitate at the chance of a fresh start somewhere new. What she didn’t expect was to be haunted by a ghost in the café and her needing the local farmer Logan to rescue her. What starts off as the two of them hunting the alleged ghost ends with them catching feelings for each other. But Logan has been hurt in the past and he definitely doesn’t trust a girl from the city. Some books are just written to make you feel a warm and fuzzy feeling, like a cozy hug from a friend. Laurie Gilmore is the queen of cozy romance. And if you don’t just like autumn you have to read the rest of the Dream Harbor series as well - including The Cinnamon Bun Book Store (Summer), The Christmas Tree Farm (Winter) and The Strawberry Patch Pancake House (Spring).

  Mr Fixer Upper

  This was such a fun and satisfying read! Mr. Fixer Upper totally hit the spot — funny, charming, and so easy to fall into from the very first page. I have a soft spot for stories with guys who actually know how to use their hands (in every sense of the word ), and this book definitely delivered. The male lead was just the right mix of rugged on the outside but a real sweetheart on the inside and the chemistry between the two main characters felt real and earned. I was sceptical at first seeing as the story was build around a reality tv show but I habe to admit - it worked surprisingly well without being too awkard. The humor kept things light without losing the emotional depth, and the characters were super relatable — flawed but lovable in that Lucy Score kind of way. If you enjoy witty banter, small-town vibes, a super strong & confident female lead and her counterpart - a man who can fix your kitchen and your heart, this one's definitely worth picking up. PS: After finishing Mr Fixer Upper, I am so looking forward to reading the Christmas Fix - the second story surrounding the King siblings and their conctruction tv show

  Maybe You Should Talk to Someone

  Have you ever wondered what your therapist thinks of you? And if they like you? I was intrigued to read this book, one because I wanted to find out if it portrays therapy accurately and two because I always wondered what my therapist thinks. And I am so glad I did read it. Loris writing is immaculate. It gives the perfect mixture of insights into a therapists mind and also into a clients mind. I am going to therapy myself and I definitely found myself in this book quite often (maybe more often than I would like). The way Loris experiences are not just fascinating but also highly entertaining makes you laugh out loud at times and then also feel all kinds of emotions. I was always curious to find out what my therapist thinks about me - well, this book shows you the other side of a therapy session. After reading this book (and finding myself analysing my own behaviour & patterns in therapy) I actually talked to my therapist about it. As a result we had a totally different approach to our sessions and we both discovered new things about each other. I would definitely call this book an eye-opener, but more in an entertaining than a factual manner. If you haven't been to therapy before and want to know what it's like - read this book. If you have been to therapy before and want to know what your therapist maybe think & feel - read this book.
