„make you mine this christmas“ a queer book with Christmas vibes.

Bewertungsnummer: 2368783

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

„make you mine this christmas“ a beautifully queer book with Christmas vibes. I really liked this book, especially because you think that at any moment Haf and Christophers fake dating could be revealed as a lie. That creates the tension in this book. I really liked the description of the houses, the house of Christopher‘s parents for example. But I would have loved and appreciated a more detailed description about the appearance of the characters. Of course, this left room for imagination , but I prefer a specific picture of the characters. At first, it was really hard for me to get into the book . I found it quite boring for the first 50 pages. but after that, the plot got more interesting and I could really grow to like the book. I just think the scene at the party was way too long, though it was a necessary introduction into the world of the book. I appreciate the representation. Bisexual men, lesbian, autistic person, disabled person. I really liked the characterization of the characters in this book. Theyre all so different and interesting. The end was way too short for me, and I would’ve loved to see Kit and Haf be together for a longer time at the end.

A Warm, Queer, and Wonderfully Messy Christmas

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

Usually not a big fan of sapphic stories that involve a man, I was surprised by how much this one won me over. Haf agrees to play Christopher’s pretend girlfriend for the holidays, hoping it’ll keep his family from meddling in his love life. But Haf, being a chaotic bisexual, is more interested in Christopher’s sister Kat. As she’s pulled into the whirlwind of the Calloway Christmas, Haf ends up transforming their lives as much as they transform hers. A warm, wonderfully awkward holiday romance, the story charms with its queer joy, family chaos, and heartfelt vulnerability. While the plot hits familiar festive beats, its neurodiverse and inclusive representation gives it a refreshing lift. Cozy and low-angst, it’s the perfect winter read. (16+)
