The world feels both vivid and unsettling, and Collins’ writing is immersive, capturing the fear, desperation, and resilience of her characters with remarkable clarity. The story’s pacing maintains high suspense while subtly weaving in thought-provoking reflections on power, society, and human nature. As the narrative unfolds, readers begin to question what else the Capitol may have hidden from the public throughout the Hunger Games. "Sunrise on the Reaping" once again illustrates the extent to which corrupt regimes can manipulate and control without citizens even noticing, leaving a lingering sense of unease and reflection.

    It’s been a long time since a book has truly captivated me like this one. A sharp blend of slow-burn tension and sizzling chemistry, the story hooks you from the very first charged encounter. The dynamic between the leads is both playful and emotionally grounded, making every interaction feel meaningful. The hockey backdrop adds just enough grit to balance the sweetness, creating a sports romance that’s addictive in the best way. The characters are wonderfully developed, and their growth throughout the book makes the story feel complete and deeply satisfying. Due to explicit sex scenes, the book is recommended for readers 18 and older.

The book discusses what it's like to be young, live in a more or less non-supportive household and be closeted, while still trying to find and strengthen one’s own queer and butch identity. It's a beautiful story about discovering your true self and finding strength and community.

Offen, authentisch und ehrlich erzählt sie von ihrer Kindheit und Jugend – und von der großen Bedeutung des Fußballs, der sie für immer mit ihrem Vater verbinden wird. Sie berichtet von ihrer Zeit bei großen Vereinen und davon, wie sie den Spagat zwischen Profikarriere, Familie und ihrer Krebserkrankung gemeistert hat. Die AKB, die wir vom Platz kennen, die coole, mutige und laut Medien „riskant“ spielende Torhüterin, zeigt sich in diesem Buch von einer ganz neuen, sehr persönlichen Seite. Ein absolut empfehlenswertes Buch für alle, die sich für Fußball interessieren und einen ehrlichen Blick hinter die Kulissen werfen möchten.
