The Song of Achilles

Eines meiner Lieblingsbücher! Es lohnt sich wirklich, auch wenn ich leider sagen muss, dass sich eine Stellen etwas ziehen, dennoch besser als die meisten anderen Bücher die so im Internet gehiped werden.

I completely lost myself while reading this book, especially the second half. It‘s beautifully written and i felt so absorbed into their world that i couldn‘t stop reading even though my eyes were filled with tears. Even if i was a 100% sure i knew what‘s going to happen, this book surprised me in a way that i never knew a few words on a piece of paper could. It touched me deeply. Achilles and Patroclus won‘t ever be forgotten.

What the headline said. Just this book. My favourite book, ever. Reading it was like a poem, it was so astonishingly beautiful, but painful at the same time. The way that Madeline Miller wrote this novel was different from any other book I have ever read; I have never felt so moved and touched by any literature before, nevertheless, The Song of Achilles was indescribable. I remember finishing this book at 3am (and I did have school on the day after), and could not stop crying for literal hours. It brought so much grief and so much joy to me, I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks, either. I can only recommend reading The Song of Achilles -actually, I BEG you to read it- I would sell my soul to read it for the first time again. The way that Patroclus' and Achilles' relationship was described and pictured, the trojan war and everything else about this book was marvelous.

This book. This book was an emotional rollercoaster. It ripped my heard out, pieced it back together and ripped it apart again. And I will come back and let it do it again. The characters, the writing, everything about this book is perfect. There were so many quotes I had to close the book and just stared into thin air for a while, because of all the FEELINGS! And that ENDING! That ending KILLED ME, I could not, COULD NOT read the last chapter in one go because I was SO AFRAID how it would end. I expected a lot from this book and MILLER DELIVERED! This book is a MASTERPIECE and if you still wonder whether you should read this or not DO IT!
