On Lord Voldemort’s traces

Bewertung am 10.06.2022

Bewertungsnummer: 1727871

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

Joanne K. Rowling‘s latest novel „Harry Potter and the Halfbloodprince“ is a Fantasy novel, spiced up with a bit of Mystery and Thriller, which is perfectly exciting for especially young readers. The novel takes place in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Scotland and accompanies the 16 year old student Harry Potter and tells us, how he and the rest of the Wizarding World tries to cope with the return of one of the most dangerous dark wizards, while Harry learns more about Lord Voldemort‘s past and tries to discover his dark secret with the headmaster Dumbledore. Harry Potter and his friends return to Hogwarts after the long summer break, but everthing has changed- the Dark Lord has returned and he and his followers spread horror and fear. The days have become darker and the whole Wizarding World is in uproar. Strong security measures prevail at Hogwarts and a new teacher for Potions is hired. While doing his duties as the Quidditch Captain and a diligent student, Harry Potter regulary meets up with the headmaster to search for traces in Lord Voldemort‘s tragic past. Harry finds the old Potions book of the mysterious Halfbloodprince, which helps him getting achknowledged more by his Potions teacher Slughorn, who hides a dark secret about the time he also teached Tom Riddle, young Voldemort. Manipulating his own memory, he went on with his life, but now the information he hides about Lord Voldemort‘s youth is from urgent importance. „Your task is to persuade Professor Slughorn to reveal the true memory [...]“ , Dumbledore says to Harry. So Harry does everything possible to find out, what Slughorn tried to hide for so long. Schocking choices are made and horrific secrets are revealed. A novel so serious and yet so funny and adventurous. From here on, the story around Harry Potter and his friends gets more serious and much darker. The characters become more mature and start to act up. There is a big diversity and each character has an own difficulty, she or he has to go through, which shapes the whole story very interesting. Also the secret about the Halfbloodprince‘s identity is capturing. The focus of the story is on Lord Voldemort’s past and his disposition to the evil. It gives you a deeper insight at how Voldemort could become such an evil villain and what his actual goals are. Joanne K. Rowling did an amazing Job with this novel. Her writing style is ecxiting and very easy to read. You are able to read the whole book fluently, without being disturbed by her way of writing. She has a big vocabulary and is very good at describing feelings/emotions and also places of the beautiful castle Hogwarts. You can perfectly imagine the Wizarding World‘s magical places. Joanne K. Rowling‘s writing is very sober, possibly because she also wrote a lot of crime stories under her synonym „Robert Galbraith“. The whole story is exciting and has a lot of plottwists with an unexpected and emotional ending. When you are searching for an excellent bookseries with strong protagonists and an exciting content, that swallows you in, I can only recommend you Harry Potter, especially „the Halfbloodprince“. But note: you have to read the books in order to understand the plot.
