Iron Widow - Special Edition with Bonus Art (Iron Widow, Book 1)

Ich habe Iron Widow geliebt! Das Buch hat mich aus einem Lese-Loch gezogen, ich konnte es kaum aus der Hand legen. Zetian ist bitter, besessen von Rache und bereit zu tun, was auch immer nötig ist, um an Macht zu kommen. Die Geschichte ist actiongeladen, das Setting faszinierend, die Motive der Figuren moralisch verwerflich. Beim Thema female rage und female empowerment hat mir der Zusammenhalt unter den Flinta-Figuren gefehlt, aber ich denke, das ist Absicht – schliesslich ist Zetian morally more black than gray und hat kein Gefühl für Solidarität. Kann ich sehr empfehlen!

Okay, so I must confess. This book stood on my shelf for a while. And then I read it and had to get the sequel like immidiately. The story - the whole world is captivating. Zetian - even hotheaded and reckless sometime - is a relatable character I got so frustrated and angry numerous times. The way she was and still constantly is treated - just it was bad, beause is was brutal, but uuhh was it great for the plot. I was diving head first into battles with her and then the book was over! Just like that. I HAD to get the second book now, but fate choose diffrently. Only getting my hands on "Heavenly Tyrant" today, I had to help me out of the hangover that "Iron Widow" left me in and even though I am going to read the sequel like right now, or at least I wan to I have to finish my incredibly good filler. So read "Iron Widow" if you like female rage, strong characters and an absolut amazing story that hooked me as soon as I saw a TikTok of Xiran Jay Zhao the author, about the goddam LOVE TRIANGLE - the strongest geometrical form. Take that scholars and strategists!

Es ist spannend von vorne bis hinten und man hat während man es durchliest immer Bock, noch ein Kapitel zu lesen! Dein Hauptcharakter und ihre Sichtweise sind frischer Wind, da sie moralisch mehrere Facetten hat, was vor allem im zweiten Teil hervorgehoben wird- Sie ist einfach toll! :D

Ich kann es sehr empfehlen. Das Buch wurde nicht langweilig. Eigentlich ist es nicht mein Genre, aber, weil New York Times Besteller dran steht habe ich es gelesen. Eine sehr gute Entscheidung. Eine starke Frau mit Intelligenz und Humor.

Ich habe das Buch auf Englisch gelesen, was ich nicht gewöhnt bin. Aber es lohnt sich wirklich! Ich habe zwar ein paar Wörter oder Sätze nachgeschlagen, aber ansonsten den Text sehr gut verstanden. Ich hatte beim Lesen Bilder im Kopf, so wie es mir auch bei guten deutschen Texten geht. Ich bin froh, dass ich dieses Buch gelesen habe, und habe mir auch schon die Fortsetzung vorbestellt!
