Cruel King The Royal Elite - Prequel

The prequel about Glyndon, Landon, and Brandon’s parents has finally been released—and what can I say? I was blown away. Even though it’s not the best installment in the Royal Elite series, it was definitely steamy, thrilling, and gripping from the very first page. I could hardly put the book down. To me, Levi King is the man for Astrid Clifford—and he makes that pretty clear. With his jealous and possessive nature, he’s a perfect match for her. Astrid, on the other hand, is exactly the right counterpart to Levi with her personality, so the dynamic between the two works brilliantly. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Rina Kent book without drama. The major issue in this story is the deep-rooted feud between the King and Clifford families. They hate each other with a passion and are, accordingly, strongly opposed to Levi and Astrid being together. As if that would ever stop Levi. The reason for this hatred is definitely understandable and extremely dramatic, but in my opinion, it shouldn’t be projected onto the children—just because the families share a cruel past. Unfortunately, I read the Legacy of Gods series first, but in hindsight, I understand many of the children’s decisions and behaviors all the better. The thought, “Yes, the children really take after their parents,” crossed my mind more than once. Highly recommended.
