I had to get into the story a bit, but then I was HOOKED! I love the characters, the world building, the complexity of each one of them and the magic system is super nice! And the plot twist!!! Didn't see it coming, never would have guessed!!! It broke my heart and kept me thinking about it for days! Looking forward to "Light Wielder" - one of my most anticipated books in 2026.

und alles bekommen, was ich in einer Geschichte je lesen wollte! Fesselnde Story, lustige Momente, Gefühlsachterbahn und einen weiblichen Charakter mit Power. Noch nie hab ich ein Buch so verschlungen. Ich liebe es und kann es nicht fassen, dass ich bis Juni auf Band zwei warten muss. Unbedingt lesen!

Kind of disappointing

I really wanted to love this book - the concept and the synopsis sounded very promising and the overall vibes at the beginning were quite nice. But sadly it went downhill the longer the book went on. The prose was kind of monotone and felt lacking in terms of worldbuilding. I saw lots of postings on social media concerning the massive plottwist, so I was really excited to get to it. To my disappointment the twist was so out of nowhere that it seemed very unbelievable and constructed for a shocking effect. Overall it was an enjoyable read, but left me wanting for more.
