Rites of the Starling

I liked the second book in the trilogy even better than the first, because the new introduced characters, first and formost Caspia and Andreas, bring a second plot line that adds even more depth, yet they still tell a story of their own. It’s a bit slower than the first one, but for a good reason. The addition of two new main characters was a very bold move of Davney Perry and worked well for the narrative. Odessa and the Guardian fade a little into the background to give these two their time to become a part of the tale and for the reader to get know them. The ending brought all the little clues scattered throughout the book together in a wonderful way - I can’t wait for the release of the third volume as the finale of the book made me rather curious for the continuation of the story.
