Even the Good Girls Will Cry My 90s Rock Memoir

Melissa Auf der Maur writes about her life as a woman in the (90s) rock world and making history doing so. Through her magical love of the power of music she finds her way into Hole, Courtney Love's band, right after the release of their second record "Live Through This" and later on The Smashing Pumpkins. She plays stages all around the world and experiences not only the glory but also brutal side of being in the (mainstream) spotlight and said 90s music scene. This memoir is rough and honest and I loved every single bit of it - Melissa highlights her growing up in Montreal and the upcoming 90s music scene there as well as her love for photography and merges writing with her pictures, which she took along the road. I carved myself into a massiv female led-grunge hole with this gem and can't stop listening to bands like Hole, L7, Babes in Toyland... and am super stoked for her upcoming photography book "My '90s Rock Photographs".
