I was pleasantly surprised by the book, as I'd heard from many sources that it was the worst book in the series. I will definitely read the second book. I think both characters develop well and grow. I especially like how Ava develops and takes care of herself. The love story's progression was too rushed for me, but then other exciting elements made up for it. There's a lot of drama and action that keep the book exciting. There are also some serious plot twists that I didn't expect at all. If you like morally grey, Alex is exactly the right book-boyfriend for you. The relationship could have been developed further, but otherwise I found it really cute. There are a few chapters here for those who prefer spicy books. It definitely contains sensitive content, so please check the trigger warnings.
