I genuinely can’t stop thinking about this book.

I’m struggling to find the right words to fully capture how deeply The Favourites affected me. From the very first page, it had me completely hooked and never let go.
The drama.
The rage.
The betrayal.
The obsession.
This is a story fueled by ambition, love, revenge, and an almost painful hunger to win. The emotional intensity is extreme — utterly gripping, dramatic, and impossible to put down.
Every single character in this book is toxic and complex in their own way. Everyone carries trauma, personal struggles, and inner demons, which makes their choices messy, devastating, and painfully human. The tension, the ambition, the constant emotional push and pull — it’s all unbelievably captivating.
If you know me even a little, you know that Wuthering Heights is one of my all-time favorite books. The Favourites is filled with Easter eggs and thematic parallels, and I’ve heard it’s essentially a retelling — which made me love it even more. That obsessive, destructive, all-consuming love is at the very heart of this story.

This was my first book of this kind, and I went in with absolutely no expectations — only to come out completely overwhelmed. Emotional, thrilling, heartbreaking, and addictive.
The Favourites is already a highlight of my reading year.
Layne Fargo absolutely deserves a gold medal for this one.

Dieses Buch von Layne Fargo The Favourites ist ein echter Geheimtipp ! Alles was man zu einem Liebesroman braucht: Zwei Eiskunstläufer Katarina Shaw und Heath Rocha, eine große Liebe, viel Leidenschaft und eine Menge Ehrgeiz zum Gewinnen. Wie sagt man so schön Leidenschaft die Leiden schaft. Viel viel Drama und viele Hürden um das größte zu erreichen das Katarinas Traum ist, nämlich Gold bei Olympia. Was alles passiert müsst ihr selbst lesen. Ich fand es mitreißend, spannend, dramatisch und es hat mich zum Lesen angetrieben. Ich kann es als sehr gut weiterempfehlen und merke mir auch die Autorin ! SUPER !
