Dark and dangerous sirens
A nice gothic spin on the siren myth. Instead of fins, they have wings and live mostly on dry land. Our main character Imogen is a siren in hiding and must navigate a world that is trying to kill her, which leads her to Theo, the king of a different kingdom, who offers her safety. The romance was quite nice, but what bothered me was the kind of insta-love trope, which didn't help the fleshing out of their relationship. Apart from that and the lack of worldbuilding, this was a good romantasy debut and offers a atmospheric read for dark winter days.
