Through Adeline's story, we gain a deep glimpse into the pain Gigi endured, especially because of her husband. Yet the real heartbreak lies in Gigi’s choice to be with a man who offers no peace. Her stalker, a dangerous and volatile figure, is the opposite of a quiet, secure life. And still, she chooses him, fully aware of the peril he brings. This decision—this complex blend of fear and longing—makes the book one of the most powerful works by the author, revealing the dark, confusing corners of the human psyche that leave us questioning our own choices. For me by far the best book of the author!!
