toxic relations and a lot of pressure
An impressive novel à la Taylor Jenkins Reid! Layne Fargo, well known for her crime novel "They Never Learn", tells a well crafted tale about the former it-couple on the ice. While we get glimpses of the new documentary ten years after the big scandal, we also hear the real story in retrospective from Kat herself. This novel is about toxic relationships, to trust in oneself when the odds are against you, unhealthy competitiveness and the pressure especially high performance athletes are under. The characters as well as their dynamics are well fleshed out, we also get a good insight into figure scating and ice dancing as competitive sports on olympia level. The mixed media elements were also well done! Thrilling, dramatic and exciting!
