    Millie and Finn

Give Me Butterflies by Jillian Meadows is the first book in the Oaks Sisters duet. This is Millie and Finn‘s story.   These two both work in a museum together and I absolutely love the STEM aspect of the book. Millie is a curator for the Entomology Department and the butterfly and bugs girl. And Finn is the director of the Astronomy Department. They have a bit of a hate to love work rivalry going on and that was quite funny to follow along and their bickering is great. They slowly became friends and then so much more and I loved following along their story. It’s definitely slow burn but I loved all the little and tender moments.   Millie is working hard to get a new position of a director and I loved how passionate she is about her field of study. Her family is lovely as well and I loved the scenes at their farm. She is caring and loving and that was exactly what Finn needed.   Finn really likes his job and he has a stable life, but it  turns upside down when his sister dies, and he becomes the guardian of his twin nieces. I liked how this book portrayed grief in a raw and realistic way and how they work on it. I always love a found family story and this one was just so precious, and I melted away with all the scenes with the nieces.   Overall, Give Me Butterflies totally gave me butterflies and was such an amazing and heartfelt STEM friends-to-lovers romance. 5 stars.   (ARC kindly provided in exchange for a review.)

Cute little Lovestory at the Museum ☆

Give Me Butterflies is beautifully written & emotionally touching. A story that draws you in from the very first page. It seems to be a light and easy read, but it is also deeply emotional - talking about loss and an absuive relationship. And still it's a real comfort read which I finished in just one sitting. I liked Meadows' writing style a lot as it is quite flowy and funny. First of all, I normally don't read science lovestorys but this one was just too good not to read. The setting is at a museum and the two main characters Millie and Finn are in two of the museums departments - entomology and astronomy. What stood out most to me were the characteristics of the two protagonists. Their connection felt authentic, and I genuinely enjoyed watching their relationship evolve from enemies to friends to lovers. Both of them grow and change in ways that feel real and relatable. Their journey is filled with tender moments, subtle humor, and heartfelt exchanges that made me smile more than once. However, the theme of loss is also a very present topic— specifically the loss of a loved one. While it’s handled with great sensitivity and emotional honesty, it can be quite moving and may be intense for some. Same goes for the mentioned abuse in a former relationship - it is unnerving to read but also quite Julian Meadows balances sorrow with hope, and pain with healing. It's ultimately a story about finding light after darkness, and love after loss. If you're in the mood for a heartfelt romance with emotional dept and genuine characters, Give Me Butterflies is definitely worth reading.
