The Track Isn’t the Only Thing Heating Up

If Formula 1 romance is the new hockey romance, then I guess I’m officially along for the ride—even if hockey will always have my heart. But Pole Position? It delivered exactly what I wanted: high stakes, emotional tension, and a cute romance. Set in the fast-paced world of F1, this book gives us rivalry, secrecy, and the ever-present pressure of being in the spotlight. One of them is desperate to keep his private life exactly that—private. The other? Loud, confident, and completely unafraid to push all his buttons. Sparks fly, tempers flare, and somewhere between the podiums, press conferences, and backroom politics, their feelings become impossible to ignore. The romance? Angsty, forbidden, and so, so good. It’s that classic I-want-you-but-I-can’t-have-you tension, mixed with genuine vulnerability and deep emotional moments. One second, they’re fighting, the next, they’re sharing a look that could set the entire track on fire. Now, do I love hockey romances more than F1 romances? Maybe…okay yes!. But this book proved that queer sports romance in F1 is absolutely something I need more of.

    Kian and Harper

Pole Position by Rebecca J. Caffery is a queer Formula 1 romance. This is the story of Kian and Harper.   Kian is well established in the F1 world and one of the best drivers in the league. He is a golden boy, and a lot of people compare him to his dad who was also an F1 champion, but that puts a lot of pressure on him he doesn’t want. He is a very understanding, organized and passionate person and I liked him a lot.   Harper is a new F1 driver, and he is living his life party and scandals included. After another driver gets injured, it’s his chance to prove his potential and he becomes the teammate of Kian. Harper is definitely a bit unhinged and very vital and that loosens up the plot a bit and I liked that.   I absolutely love F1 romance, and this story brings something new to the table as I’ve never read a story with two teammates. It brings a whole new insight perspective and I really liked that. At first, Kian and Harper have this rivalry going on, but they spend a lot of time in close quarters and slowly get to know each other. The romance is definitely slow burn, but that made me appreciate the story more. Kian and Harper are such a cute couple, and I really enjoyed their story.   Overall, if you also like F1 romances, Pole Position is a must-read. 4,5 stars.   (ARC kindly provided in exchange for a review.)

    Don't mess up my tempo

Fun, fast-paced and fiery Rom-Com. While I did read through this book fairly quickly, the character and overall plot lacked a bit of depth for me personally. But that is not to say, I didn't find this enjoyable. It definitely was enjoyable! So if you are looking for an entertaining but quick read, this is it!

Perfect F1 Romance with actual F1 terminology & facts

I had lots of fun reading this. I bought it for the f1 theme, as I myself watch f1 and am very invested in the sport and the drivers alike. I did not think it would be possible to pull off a fictional grid like the author did, that amazed me and left me in complete awe. Congrats to the writer for writing a story that ectually encapsules how the f1 world works. The jobs, the timeline, the stress, the comments, it all seemed so realistic, like I'm not reading romance but rather a book about how the racing industry operates. (Which I LOVE do not get me wrong.) The characters are diverse and written like real people with dimensions instead of empty tropes. Reading this leaves you missing the characters afterwards, as you feel like you just spent a year with the characters as your friends. I am not used to reading spicy books, but I loved the sex scenes. They felt like honest connection between the two and not just like simple, braindead porn. I am, however, not sure if someone outside of the f1 fanbase would like the book since the f1 specific terms are not explained and there are lots of them.

    Spicy queer sports romance

I absolutely loved this dual POV spicy queer romance. The characters were amazing and I could relate to their feelings, thoughts and insecurities. The spice was great and I wouldn’t have minded some more intimate scenes but I also absolutely loved the little moments in between where they worshipped each other. I have been very absorbed with heated rivalry lately and “first to finish” has been a great fix for my withdrawal symptoms. I can really recommend this wonderful queer romance!

    First to Finish

First to Finish überzeugt genau wie Band 1!
