Deephaven

Deephaven is the perfect novel for fans of subtle dark academia vibes with ancient mysteries and dark magic. We follow our main protagonist Guinevere "Nev" Tallow, as they flee their old life in order to enter the prestigious academy of Deephaven, although they soon notice, that the building harbors many dark and deadly secrets. Nev's curious mind won't rest until all things hidden are finally revealed and the other students are safe from the cursed beast roaming the halls. While the book is intended for younger readers I truly believe that it is very enjoyable for readers of all ages. It features a diverse cast of lovable and well written characters, that you can't help but care about. The story is filled with mysteries and secrets that keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat for the entire time and the beautifully drawn illustrations featured after each chapter of the book are an added bonus that perfectly enhance the spooky feeling of Deephaven and make you feel truly immersed in this world. The writing isn't overly descriptive and yet manages to create the perfect atmosphere while reading. I would definitely recommend this as a perfect story to read during autumn and halloween.
