This book was the first one to make me tear up. The story is beautifully written, but really sad. Eden, our main character, is getting sexually assaulted by someone dear to her. She hides this from her family and friends, for years, without anyone noticing and tries to bring her life back to normal. A really sad but gripping story everyone should read at least once in their life.

The way I used to be is a pretty touching book. Eden is going through a lot of changes because of the thing that happened to her. She would do anything and everything to go back to the day and prevent what happened. She tried to cut ties with the things and people she thought she didn't need. But in the end she realizes she is the only one who can save herself. I love it, that there are books like this, which are dealing with topics like this one because we are not talking enough about these things. It was an emotional story. Amber Smith has a writing style which is pretty easy to read.
