Meine letzte Rezension Schlicht Vegan von Sarah Hein

Ich bin nun schon lange Vegan und noch länger Vegetarisch, musste deshalb auf viele meiner Kindheitsmahlzeiten verzichten. Nun habe ich aber dieses Buch entdeckt und bin einfach nur mega happy!! Die Bilder sehen aus wie das "Original" mit Tierprodukten, sind aber ganz einfach Vegan nachzumachen. Was ich besonders mag ist, dass man basically schon alles zu Hause hat und es jedes andere Lebensmittel ganz normal im Supermarkt gibt. Von nun an werde ich diese Klassiker für meine Eltern mit kochen :)

A Little Life

"A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara is by far my favorite book of all time. For the people who don´t dare to read this book because of how thick and "slow pacing" it is need to trust me on this one (as a slow reader myself). In the beginning of the book Hanya Yanagihara is explaining the four main characters in depth. From what they want to achieve to what they are thinking, everything is included. It is important that you remember the details of each character, because after some time Hanya stops telling us which perspective we are in right now (for myself, i chose to write little character sheets :) ). This book follows Jude, Willem, Malcolm and JB through their lives. The ups and downs of becoming adults, love and friendship. Everything you could want from a book is included. I finished this book over a year ago and I still think about Jude on a daily basis. I remember the day I finished the last chapter, I was sobbing on the floor struggling to breathe. As I was making my way to the kitchen to get more tissues my mom was just starring at me and asked if everything is okay (in fact nothing was okay). I ended up convincing my mom (who doesn´t really read books) to also read the book (in german) and she ended up coming to me for tissues. Long story short: read the book if you want to fall in love with the characters of this story and want to learn more about love and friendship (also a good read for a good cry).

Berserk Master Edition 01

Ich bin ja schon seit Jahren ein riesen Fan von Berserk. Habe den Manga in drei verschiedenen Sprachen und vier verschiedenen Auflagen in meinem Regal. Am schönsten anzusehen ist natürlich die "Deluxe Version" und nun die gleiche Version jetzt auf Deutsch - "Master Edition". Ein wunderschönes Cover mit Buchrücken, ein muss für jeden Berserk Fan und jeder der es noch werden will! Über die Story: In Berserk begleiten wir Guts, den "schwarzen Ritter". Es beginnt mit einem Einblick in die Zukunft, geht dann zurück in Guts seine Kindheit. Von da an erleben wir Guts in all seinen herausfordernden Lebensentscheidungen, unter anderem das aufeinander Treffen mit "dem weißen Falken". All in all: eine absolute Empfehlung, LEST ES!!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

This book got recommended to me by a friend, and oh my days i will never stop thinking about it. In this book we follow a teenage boy, Charlie, who is struggling with a lot of things: physical, sexual and emotional abuse, mental illnesses and most of all fitting in. He writes letters to a "Dear friend" and tells us about his days. The good and bad ones. How he loves to read books, loves his friends, who he falls in love with and all his thoughts. I see myself in Charlie and I think many other people do too.

Tender is the Flesh

This book follows a man who is the head of a human slaughter house, because in this world all animals have a virus and humans can´t eat their meat, milk and everything that has anything to do with animals, so its normalized to slaughter human beings. At first you would think..."Hm, why not become vegan?" Well, in this book you find out that when something so naturally gets taken away from humans, they get all feral and want back what was once theirs. I think everyone should read this book, not just because the story is so gripping, but also because it is happening in real life...just instead of slaughtering humans we slaughter animals...

Jujutsu Kaisen – Band 1

Ich habe die Manga Reihe nach der ersten Staffel gelesen und liebe sie! Die Charaktere werden so viel besser beschrieben, genauso wie ihre Fähigkeiten. Wobei ich sagen muss, dass der Artstyle während den Kämpfen etwas mühsam war zu entziffern. Alles in Allem ein must-read!

Hunter X Hunter 1

HxH ist mein absoluter Lieblingsanime - also war klar, dass ich den Manga auch lesen muss. Die Story ist so viel intensiver und tiefgründiger erklärt als im Anime (klar der Manga kam ja auch davor raus) und der Zeichenstyle ist in manchen Panels wirklich beeindruckend. Ein must-read für alle Manga Fans!!

The Midnight Game

As usual, I loved this book from Cynthia Murphy. It´s a fast and easy read, but still keeps you entertained and on the edge of your seat. About the book: Six strangers, who met on Reddit, decide to take part of a horror ritual game. Their plan: meet at a abandoned school to summon the midnight man. There are a lot of rules they have to follow, if they don´t do as they say - they die.

The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All 1

Von der Story bis zum Artstyle, alles top. In dem Manga geht´s, wie im Titel schon gesagt, um ein Mädchen, das sich in einen scheinbaren Jungen verliebt. Stellt sich aber raus, der "Junge" ist in Wahrheit ein Mädchen. Musik ist außerdem auch ein großer Punkt in der Story, extra Pluspunkt für den tollen Musikgeschmack :)

The Way I Used to Be

This book was the first one to make me tear up. The story is beautifully written, but really sad. Eden, our main character, is getting sexually assaulted by someone dear to her. She hides this from her family and friends, for years, without anyone noticing and tries to bring her life back to normal. A really sad but gripping story everyone should read at least once in their life.

Billie Eilish

As a big Billie Eilish Fan it was obvious I had to get this book. It´s pretty self explanatory what the book is about: Billies life shown in photographs, what it was like for her teenageself to grow up on stage and her struggles with mental health. I love this book dearly and recommend it to anyone who wants to get to know Billie a little bit more. Btw, there´s a audiobook on YouTube where Billies mom explains every picture to you while you go through the book, makes it extra emotional :)
