Was zunächst wie eine leichte Geschichte über eine ungewöhnliche Gruppe von Frauen wirkt, entwickelt sich zu einem einfühlsamen Roman über Verlust, Selbstzweifel und die Kraft echter Verbundenheit. Besonders gefällt mir, wie authentisch und menschlich die Frauen beschrieben sind. Jede bringt ihre eigene Geschichte mit, und gerade dadurch fühlen sie sich so nahbar an. Die Idee, das Eisbaden als verbindendes Element zu nutzen, ist originell und symbolisch zugleich: Man muss sich überwinden, ins Kalte zu springen – genauso wie im echten Leben. Zwischen leisen, emotionalen Momenten und warmem, britischem Humor entsteht eine Geschichte, die Mut macht und zeigt, wie wichtig Gemeinschaft ist. Für mich war es ein Buch, das nachhallt und daran erinnert, dass Neuanfänge in jedem Alter möglich sind.
