If you have managed to sit through the beginning you will be rewarded by one of his best stories. Please mind the sensitive and potentially triggering topics involved and mentioned in the text.

If you want blood ...

´Salem´ Lot, Stephen Kings second novel, was published back in 1975. It is a vampire-story transferred to the 20th century USA. This is an interesting plot, which is spread out for more than 650 pages, my German edition is shorter and I didn´t miss any important person or event. Some characters appear only to be later mentioned as dead or undead, they are not necessary for the progress of the story. Anyway, if you want to read a good old fashioned vampire book, inspired by Bram Stoker, this one may be your choice. (See also: Stoker, Dracula)
