Two Twisted Crowns the instant NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY bestseller

One of the best book duology I read this year. I actually enjoined it a lot. The plot is interesting and most important without stupid holes or non logical events. The main characters are great but I also enjoined the side characters line. At some point at the second book I became even more exited about their story, then main love line, in a good way.

I loved the first book and was shocked by it's end, so I really looked forward to the second book. And I was not disappointed! At the beginning I was not satisfied by the different POVs and the shift in character focus, but this soon settled and I thoroughly enjoyed this book as much as the first. The world is dark and twisted, the plot is not predictable and I loved all the main characters (for their own distinct reasons). I can highly recommend these two books. Ove of my favourites now!!!

I cried and I laughed, simply put I went through all the emotions with this sequel. This time the focus is a lot more on the other characters and how they will safe their kingdom which is a nice change. The get to know more of the lore and the life of them all, honestly I just loved it!

Sequels, especially second books, are very hard to pull off and usually disappointing but Rachel Gillig doesn’t seem to know that. She continued and ended this story so effortlessly that you really start to question why other authors can’t. If Ravyn made you nervous, wait until Elm meets his full potential. Wow, Rachel Gillig really didn’t hold back with the character development, hitting us left and right with compelling POVs, amazing banter, realistic motivations and delicious tension. This second book was very character driven, shifting its focus from the protagonists to the secondary characters. A bit heavier on the romance and sadly less of the Providence Cards, but still convincing and absolutely enjoyable. Overall I think I would have enjoyed a bit more female badassery, but that’s something I’m usually missing. A new book has already been announced and rest assured, I will read it the moment it gets released. Two books that will absorb you completely and make you forget about real life as long as they last. Highly recommended!

Sie ist vorsichtig, misstrauisch aber auch klug, fürsorglich, sehr stur und auch liebevoll. Ravyn hält sich bedeckt. Er hat eine eigene Agenda. Ein klüger Stratege, fürsorglich aber vielleicht auch etwas anderes? Teil eins war dark lush. Spannend auf eine eigene Weise. Denn die Magie der Karten muss man erstmal kennelernen udn verinnerlichen. Alles muss in eine gewisse Konstellation kommen. Elsbeth udn Ravyn zusammen mit Emory, Ione, Jespyr und Elm. Alles hat seinen Platz und Band eins führt dahin. Daher hatte es mir gut gefallen, aber es ist kein funke übergesprungen. Dann kam Band 2 und das hat mich verschluckt. Es hat einen ganz anderen Vibe, anderen Sog einen ganz andere Atmosphäre wie Band eins. Ravyn udn Elspeth erleben wir aufeinmal anders. Emotionaler, hitzige, ehrlicher. Auch Emory und Ione lernt man anders kennen. Dabei spitzt sich alles zu und alles kommt ans Licht. Ob wir die Wahrheit nun wollen oder ob sie uns gefällt ist dabei nebensächlich. Gott wie hab ich Band zwei geliebt. Es hat mich so unerwartet mitgerissen ich konnte gar nicht aufhören. Ein wahrlich gelungener Abschluss!!!
