    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    A dark and atmospheric read!

This story left me breathless. I could not stop reading and after a day of flying through the book I found myself with a new favourite. The gorgeous cover drew me in and the characters and incredible story progression soon took hold of me. ‘House of Hollow’ tackles a range of important topics throughout the story. In its midst the reader finds what the power and dangers of beauty really mean. Something that also positively surprised me was that very casually the author mentioned in the beginning of the book that two of the three sisters are LGBT+. It’s not the focus of the story nor would it make a difference if all three of them were straight, but it’s just so great to read a story with queer main characters where their sexuality is not the topic of the whole book and is just another fact about them. Be warned that the book gets very dark in the end and has a surprising revelation waiting for you.

    Amazing mystery

I would recommend it for sure! An amazing book, a mystery that got you hooked, a there page turner. It's a well written story, that has you guessing what's coming next all the time. Plot twist was not unpredictable, but still impressive. It came all at the end together, everything finally made sense.

''What you don't understand is that I am the thing in the dark.''

Three sisters. One night they disappeared and came back as something completely different. Years later the oldest of them disappears again.. A twisting, creepy but fascinating dark fantasy novel, which had me completely in its grip!

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Solid

Fourteen year old me would have loved everything about this book. The vibes are quite dark for a YA novel, and also a bit spooky, which makes it a great autumn read. However, the language doesn’t quite do it for me, as well as the countless pop culture references. Is the plot believable? Hell no, not even in fantasy standards. Is it enjoyable? Oh yes! Would I recommend this book? Maybe, if one can handle another teenager not fitting into this world constantly complaining about it. (4/5)
