The Beautiful

This was a great reading experience! The story was dark and twisted and absolutely enjoyable and entertaining! The atmosphere was amazing: New Orleans in the 1870's while Mardi Gras, it was fun and ominous and just such a vibe. It somehow reminded me of the TV Series "The Originals". I adored the characters, their development and their chemistry between one another. I also liked the plot and its dynamics very much! I thought the pacing was good. The premiss was intriguing and it delivered. Also the writing was beautiful, flowery and kind of poetic. It was also not just a simple romance set back in the day, no, there is a murderer on the loose - so we also got a whole murder mystery. I thought this novel was very well balanced in its genre mix. I don't want to give away too much of the story. I went in completely blind and I think that was such a great experience. I can't recommend this book enough!
