i read 1 short story in the morning and 1 in the evening and felt so content with my lil routine sharp, evocative prose summons vivid images even in a few short pages some stories were more successful than others, but i enjoyed how creepy and unsettling they all were also, this felt like a critique to today's society, a raging scream of those trapped in the gutter

More unsetteling, less spooky

I really liked this book! The short stories were great, it was unsettling - all I was hoping for and even more! Also the stories were the perfect size! And the cover is simply AMAZING! I am so in love with it! If you wanna read unsettling horror short stories this is the one for you, even though I expected them to be more scary than unsettling but the writing was amazing so I don't mind

I really liked this book! The short stories were great, it was unsettling - all I was hoping for and even more! Also the stories were the perfect size! And the cover is simply AMAZING! I am so in love with it! If you wanna read unsettling horror short stories this is the one for you, even though I expected them to be more scary than unsettling but the writing was amazing so I don't mind

Buenos Aires and the Dead

Mariana Enriquez is not only a queen with wording, but also manages to throw us into a world, where places and people are filled with morbid desires and utter darkness. These short stories always begin real, almost conventional. Then all of a sudden they take a turn. I really enjoyed reading Enriquez Story's. The mix of horror and desire, longing and cruelty makes up the perfekt background for reading with a goosbump.
