Angelo Basile is a Full Professor and a leading authority in membrane science and technology. Since 2014, he has served as Full Professor in Systems, Methods and Technologies of Chemical Engineering Processes at CNR-ITM in Rende, Italy. His work covers hydrogen purification and production using membrane reactors, CO? capture, process intensification, and the treatment of industrial effluents with advanced membrane operations. Basile has edited many scientific books and authored numerous book chapters, bridging complex research with clear knowledge for engineers and scientists. Motivated by the role of AI/ML in accelerating membrane process design and automation, he supports integrating data-driven methods for smart plants and reaction-separation optimisation.

Kamran Ghasemzadeh is currently working as a senior research associate at the chemical engineering department, University of Manchester, UK since August 2022. At the same time, he has served as an associate professor in the chemical engineering department at Urmia University of Technology, Iran, wherein he developed research on membranes/membrane reactors for many processes.

He has more than 50 papers published in national/international congresses; and is a reviewer for 70 int. journals, an editor/author of more than 10 scientific books, and 45 chapters on int. books on membrane science and technology. Today Ghasemzadeh is collaborating with the Dept. of chem. Eng. at the University of Manchester (UK) on the valorisation of biomass by-products. He participated in various national and international projects on membrane reactors and membrane science. In the last years, he was the supervisor/co-supervisor of more than 38 Thesis for Master and Ph.D. students. Ghasemzadeh served as Director of the UUT research center during the period Sep. 2018 - April 2022.

Elham Jalilnejad is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at the Urmia University of Technology, Iran where he has been a Faculty member since 2014. Her research interests lie in the area of wastewater treatment and bioreactors (modelling, design and application). In recent years, she has focused on simulation of bio-chemical processes using Comsol Multiphysics (CFD technique) and modelling of bio-reactions occurred in bioreactors (packed-bed and novel airlift bioreactors). Also, application of the mentioned bioreactors for wastewater bio-treatment was the filed with special concern for her. She has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines of chemical engineering, particularly bio-sorption processes, and synthesis of bio-composites. She has published more than thirty ISI and conference papers, two patents, three books and three book chapters
