Conversations with Friends

This was great! It took me a little while to get into this story because the writing style was really unique, but once I was in the story I was hooked. I really enjoyed the more poetic writing, and the main character is super interesting and definitely not our typical run-of-the-mill character, which I really appreciated. Also this novel felt like a snap shot of a life, where we only get to be a part of a small amount of her life. In an almost lakonic narration style Frances is leading us through her life, through events and people she has feelings for, all the little things and everything that effects her in any way. Also her way of thinking was very unique to me and I really enjoyed it. Also I thought I would be bothered that the author weren't using any quotation marks but I didn't mind that at all. Pick this one up if you like really good writing and unique characters and storytelling! I really enjoyed it.
