Beschreibung

Strange things always seem to happen when Harry Potter is around. Things that unsettle his guardians, the Dursleys. They strongly disapprove of strangeness. It's only when a letter arrives, delivered by a shaggy giant of a man called Hagrid, that Harry learns the truth that will transform his entire future: his parents were killed by the evil Lord Voldemort, and he, Harry, is a wizard.

Whisked away to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy, Harry discovers a world of enchantments, ghosts, Quidditch, and friends who will stand, through everything, by his side. But when Harry hears of a stone with great powers, he finds that his school has its own dark secrets - and an adventure that will become the stuff of legend begins.

These adult editions with glorious jacket art by Andrew Davidson are now available in hardback for the first time.

And you thought wizardry was for children. Harry Potter will make you think again. He casts his spells on grown-ups too James Naughtie

Ich fine die Höhrbücher toll. Auch beim Autofahren kann ich leicht Englisch lernen. Die Ton Qualität ist super und auch der Sprächer faszinierend. Ich werde sicher die ganze Reihe bestellen und geniessen.

Timeless Children's Classic

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

"Love as powerful as your mother's for you leaves its own mark. Not a scar, no visible sign... to have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever." Growing up with his aunt and uncle who despise him and a cousin who loves to bully him, Harry Potter doesn't have an easy life. Up until his 11th birthday he doesn't even know that he is a wizard, and a very famous one at that. When Harry gets his invitation to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a series of adventures begins. I haven't read the "Harry Potter" book series in over a decade, but quickly fell in love with it again. I don't think one can ever be too old to read these books. I love the world J.K. Rowling created. The magic system is great, the creatures fascinating and the characters immensely diverse. I also love that this series is not only full of fantastic adventures, but also includes themes like the importance of friendship, loyalty and bravery, among others. "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" is a wonderful introduction to this world and I recommend it to children, teens and adults alike. It's truly a book everyone should read. Side note: This time around I decided not read this book myself, but rather let someone read it to me, namely Stephen Fry. If you enjoy audiobooks, or want to get into them, I highly recommend you give this one a chance. Fry's one of the best narrators I've come across thus far.
