Which role do the vampires as a race play within the divine? While the book is part of the vampire chronicles, it becomes redundant. Even if Anne Rice declares Lestats wish to become part of world literature while disappearing from the scene, she continues writing on her chronicles, which again regain the essence of her writing. Even being the worst book of the series it still remains a recommendable book for those who read the one that came before.
