Calamus: A Series Of Letters Written During The Years 1868-1880 is a collection of letters written by the renowned American poet, Walt Whitman. The letters were written to a number of Whitman's friends and acquaintances, and cover a wide range of topics, including politics, literature, and personal relationships. The title of the book refers to a series of poems that Whitman wrote, which were inspired by the calamus plant. The letters in the book offer a unique insight into the life and mind of one of America's greatest poets, and provide a fascinating glimpse into the cultural, political, and social landscape of the late 19th century. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in American literature, poetry, or history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
