Tropes: dark romance, dark taboo romance, foster siblings, forbidden romance, dark past, trauma bonding, fear play, primal play, somnophilia, revenge, soul mates, possessive and obsessive MMC, mute MMC, masked MMC, non-con, slow burn dark romance, kidnapping, revenge, obsessive love-------- Guess who’s back with another pitch-black comfort read? Of course it’s me and I’M ON MY KNEES (again). MALACHI VIZE. THE KING THAT YOU ARE. People are mad as hell, but this book is EVERYTHING. Pure Chaos (and if you know me, you know that I love me a little chaotic smutty book that challenges the living fck out of me). I didn't know I could love him more than I already did, but guess what? I was so wrong. Malachi Vize and Jeremy Volkov (Legacy of Gods) share the first place on my self-proclaimed HAHPPWMDRBBL- “hot as hell psychopaths preferably with motorcycle dark romance book boyfriend list” (don’t judge me, I know you also have lists and this is a safe space for dark romance readers) and it takes A LOT to change that (don’t you dare call yourself a dark romance reader if you don’t know who these two are). The first part of the book is a recap of Little Stranger but from Malachi's POV, and it was like rereading my favorite book but from my favorite character's POV. ICONIC. Little Stranger is one of my favorite dark romance books EVER and rereading the iconic spice from my favorite dark romance MMC’s POV was so exciting and had me giggling through the whole first part (I know I’m not the only one giggling my way through the most smutty, crazy and disturbing dark romance books like it’s an Emily Henry summer romance) and I’m especially saying the first part of Little Liars because the spice and tension in Little Strangers is UNMATCHED. God, I love that so much about LS- the nerve-wracking feeling that they will be caught at any time is so addictive. I constantly had the feeling of knowing something I shouldn’t know and I felt like I was participating in something forbidden and this feeling made me even check my surroundings while reading this smutty piece of iconicness. It crawls under your skin and makes you crave more and more and more. Seriously, I’ve never read something like that in my life. Little Stranger wasn’t morally grey; it was “morally straight from fcking hell” and the color to describe that level of madness just doesn’t exist. Malachi’s entire existence revolves around Olivia seeing him, choosing him, loving him back. Even tho he has her now, he still thinks he is not enough; after all, he never was enough for anyone- at some point not even Olivia. Him thinking he’s not worth anything and his desperation to just be enough for someone, anyone, broke my heart. He’s living in so much fear of losing Olivia, (honestly, who tf can blame him? that bitch made his life a living hell) and he fully believes that she will wake up one day and just abandon him, betray him like she did before AND HE HAS ALL THE FCKING RIGHTS TO BELIEVE THAT. Seeing the events through his eyes shattered my heart in a thousand pieces, but his POV was so fcking important to really understand him not just in LL but also in LS, and Leigh Rivers is a genius for showing us his POV. My love for Malachi runs so fcking deep- my brain just can’t comprehend it anymore. He is one of the HOTTEST characters existing and Malachi Vize in a gas mask chasing me will fcking heal me. Olivia Vize. She is THE iconic Olivia Vize (no surprise you’ll never find boring characters in Leigh Rivers books. I promise.) and I love her so so so much. Reading about why she did what she did and her finally finding the strength to stand up and fight for herself and Malachi made me love her even more. And you know what? I realized in this second that I need to reread LS & LL RIGHT NOW. Leigh, if you’re reading this, you need to write at least one more damn book for them, I’m respectfully begging you?
