Two girls whose parents are dating scheme to break them up by the end of the summer in this hijinks-filled middle grade novel from Morgan Matson, the New York Times bestselling author of The Firefly Summer.
June Parker thinks her life is perfect just the way it is, living with her mom on a small island off the coast of California. June loves her routine and is sure that this summer is going to be the best one yet.
Everything takes a turn when the Ortiz family—dad James and kids Greta, Brody, and Sophie—moves to town. Things get even worse when June and Greta find out their mom and dad are dating! It threatens to turn everything upside down…unless the girls work together to split their parents up.
And so begins a summer of schemes and heists, fake pirate ghosts, accidental food poisoning, and even unexpected dog adoption. But will any of June and Greta’s plans succeed? And at the end of the summer, will they want them to?
