Cassandra Billard thought she could handle her boyfriend Dave's cheating ways, but she's finally decided enough is enough. She's caught him up. Again. This time, the GPS tracker on his truck tells the ugly truth, but as hard as she tries, Cassie still can't let go. She's in love, trapped in a cycle of heartbreak and forgiveness.
When Covid strikes and her boss decides to temporarily close their office, a forced vacation in California with her friend Veronica seems like just the escape she needs. A week of sun, sand, margaritas? What could go wrong?Except everything. While basking in the California sun, Cassie and Veronica stumble upon five kilos of fentanyl in the trunk of their rental car, causing their relaxing getaway to take a dramatic turn. When they return home to Michigan, things get scary when dead bodies, suspicious stalkers, and sudden arrests become involved.
As the secrets unfold, Cassie finds herself questioning everything she thought she knew about love, loyalty, and her own self-worth. With Veronica by her side, she must navigate a path of difficult choices and face the truth about the man she loves. Can she find the strength to walk away, or will the hold Dave has on her heart... be too strong to resist?
