A standalone prequel for the Legends of the Alchemist Hunter. Vampires. Alchemist Hunters. A deadly reckoning. John Fellman wants to be a legend. When the renowned Alchemist Hunter Sally Weatherford summons him to the Texas cattle town Ganado, he thinks he's finally getting his chance. More than he bargained for, that opportunity might just get him killed. People are disappearing. Giant, stitched-together monstrosities roam the plains. Ranchers are being chemically altered into something barely human. And something is stalking the streets after dark. The Blood Reapers. John has youth, enhanced strength, and more confidence than sense. He's ready to charge straight at death itself if it means proving himself. Marshal Weatherford knows better. Faster than any Alchemist Hunter alive and hardened by years of hunting the unnatural, she knows that the most dangerous monsters aren't always the ones with multiple heads and razor-sharp claws. But even she isn't prepared for what lurks beneath the surface of the dusty cattle town. As bodies pile up and the Blood Reapers close in, John is about to learn what it really means to be an Alchemist Hunter. Blood Reapers is a standalone prequel in the Legends of the Alchemist Hunter universe. Fans of The Witcher and the Weird West will enjoy this fast-paced, monster-hunting adventure! The world of the Alchemist Hunter Facing its destruction in the American Civil War, the Confederacy turned toward increasingly unnatural sciences to keep their soldiers in the fight. When the war was lost, the alchemists behind those efforts fled west, where they now terrorize all who occupy the territories of that vast region. Only a select few United States Marshals, also known as Alchemist Hunters and trained for this purpose alone, can hope to stop the spreading alchemical menace. This is a story of an alternative American West, filled with monsters, gunslingers, and the fantastical possibilities forged out of esoteric sciences.
