VERBAL: an archaic method of gathering evidence by police, for convictions. When arrested you could deny, make up fictitious answers, or remain silent; in the end whatever you did was irrelevant. Your finished statement completed by the police, would include everything required to ensure your conviction. The statement would be presented as fact in Court with or without your signature. Whiskey Au Go Go firebombing: at 2:08 AM on the 8th of March 1973, the Whiskey Au Go Go nightclub, located in the Fortitude Valley, an inner suburb of Brisbane was firebombed. Fifteen people died from the affects of petrol being thrown through the entrance door and ignited. It was soon determined to be a murder; this was the largest and most horrific Mass murder in Australia at that time. John Andrew Stuart and James Finch were the individuals accused of this mass murder by police verbal. They were eventually convicted of only one of these murders to hasten the judicial process, as the public demanded justice for the innocent dead. John Andrew Stuart and James Finch, both given life sentences fanatically maintained their innocence. James Finch was released prior to the Fitzgerald inquiry into police corruption, substantially short of completing his life sentence. VERBAL: is the story of John Andrew Stuart's nightmare. 'The Mirror' - Screenplay written by Tim Roy - in preproduction. (Life story of John Andrew Stuart)
