Professor Roger Morris is an epidemiologist and health economist who has had a 50+ year career in global disease control.  He began as a clinical lecturer at the University of Melbourne, then he was Assistant Chief Veterinary Officer for Australia in Canberra.Next he was Professor and Department Chair, University of Minnesota, then Professor and EpiCentre Director, Massey University New Zealand.  He has advised all health-related international organizations and nearly 60 countries across most of the world.  He has been involved in responses to most major disease epidemics of recent decades, and has trained doctors, veterinarians and wildlife specialists across Asia on how to investigate emerging diseases.  His recent work on global issues has been supported by World Bank and Gates Foundation.  He has received numerous honours for his achievements.
