The Visitation Quartet is comprised of four plays by Stephen Evans, each examining the phenomenon of Visitation. Spirits, angels, and other visitors abound in this funny thoughtful quirky collection. In Spooky Action at a Distance, a despondent physicist chooses a Las Vegas casino hotel room to exit this world. In the midst of the attempt, he is interrupted by an exotic dancer in an angel costume delivering a birthday surprise to wrong room. What are the odds? in The Ghost Writer, a lighthearted comedy reminiscent of classic Broadway, a producer and playwright invoke the spirit of William Shakespeare. In At the Still Point, two former college sweethearts meet again for the first time forty-some years later at a nearly deserted train station, explore the events that broke them apart, and the possibilities of life at the still point.. In Monuments, an aging Ralph Waldo Emerson, voyaging down the Nile river with his daughter, is led on a Dantesque journey through through his life by the memory of his first wife. Taken together, the plays allows the audience to peer into the wild, unfathomable, and often hilarious universe in which we reside, and the mysterious encounters that shape our lives.
