Screenslaver is a supernatural horror thriller set in 1980s Miami, where three men's lives collide as a series of gruesome disappearances reveal an unimaginable evil lurking behind the city's television screens.
Lawrence Pacheco is the principled chief of police determined to expose corruption within WSVN Miami, a powerful local television station that secretly pays off police officers, city officials, and victims' families to suppress investigations into a growing number of mysterious disappearances. As more people vanish without explanation, Lawrence becomes convinced the station is covering up something far more sinister than corporate corruption.
Brody Callan, a young investigative reporter at WSVN, becomes the prime suspect when he returns home after a late shift to find his apartment destroyed and his fiancée missing. With no evidence of an intruder and police convinced he murdered her, Brody is forced to flee. He soon realizes he isn't being framed by a person - he's being hunted by whatever is responsible for the disappearances. Worse, he knows WSVN owner Marvin Townsend will exploit his personal tragedy for ratings rather than help uncover the truth.
Kevin Berkley, a Miami police officer who has accepted money from WSVN to look the other way, begins questioning his loyalty as the disappearances become impossible to ignore. Haunted by his conscience, Kevin must decide whether to continue protecting the station or finally become the officer he always wanted to be.
Behind it all is an ancient creature capable of traveling through analog television signals and assuming the appearance of its victims. Using the news station as both camouflage and a delivery system, it abducts people while manipulating fear, greed, and sensationalism to keep its existence hidden. Before each victim disappears, the creature removes their right hand and gouges out their right eye, unknowingly - or perhaps deliberately - following a passage from the Bible.
As the investigation unfolds, Brody discovers his fiancée was one of the creature's victims and is never coming home. Lawrence uncovers an even more devastating truth: his wife, who took her own life years earlier, had also fallen victim to the same evil force.
The three men finally come together after each witnesses an inexplicable cross appearing on evidence tapes viewed through analog televisions. Realizing the phenomenon is connected, they uncover the horrifying truth: the creature travels through broadcast frequencies and cannot pass through emerging digital technology. Racing to WSVN, they attempt to interrupt the station's analog signal with a digital broadcast that could sever the creature's connection to the world.
Instead, they arrive to find the creature waiting for them - and discover they are already too late. Millions have already been taken through their television screens. The creature reveals itself to be Satan, who has spent generations quietly harvesting souls through humanity's most trusted medium, building an army for the final rebellion against God.
The three men must make one last stand before the last analog signal goes dark and humanity is lost forever.
